Kalanor es un alto príncipe alezi de Roshar. Su dominio es una región al oeste de Alezkar, que incluye las tierras que se conocen como el principado Vamah hasta su muerte.[2]
Appariencia y personalidad
Es bastante mayor y prácticamente calvo. Va afeitado y tiene los ojos de color gris claro.[2] Dalinar da a entender que no llegó al poder de manera pacífica, aunque los detalles del proceso no se conocen.[2] Tiene una actitud sarcástica hacia Dalinar.[2] Se refiere a sí mismo como rey, aunque los otros alezi no consideren que lo sea.[2]
Atributos y habilidades
Sus colores son el plateado y el rojo, y su bandera es un glifopar plateado estilizado en forma de montañas sobre un fondo rojo.[2] Monta un ryshadio blanco y es un portador de esquirlada completo. Su hoja esquirlada se llama Soleada y su armadura esquirlada tiene un revestimiento plateado.[2] Aunque estaba envejeciendo, seguía siendo un duelista diestro que supuso un desafío serio para Dalinar. Usa la posición de la sangre y la posición de viento, y tiene una habilidad sorprendente para esquivar impactos directos a su armadura esquirlada.[2]

After Kalanor's death, Dalinar was still so overcome by the Thrill that he nearly attacked Gavilar, but he recovered and gifted Kalanor's Shards to Gavilar to distract from his shame.[2] Gavilar later gifted the Blade (and presumably the Plate) to his son Elhokar, who was born several years later.[4]
When Dalinar confronted Nergaoul, the source of the Thrill, one of the first images he saw reflected in the red mist was Kalanor's corpse falling from the rocks.[5]
