Initially, Highprince Dalinar Kholin refused the aid of stormwardens, such as Elthebar, but later he accepted them due to the military advantage they offered.[1] Though it was unlikely for stormwardens to be wrong about coming highstorms, Elthebar didn't predict one that occurred in 1173 while Dalinar and Renarin were riding back from a private conversation with King Elhokar Kholin at the Pinnacle.[2] Dalinar and Renarin hardly got to Dalinar's warcamp before the storm broke free and were forced to take shelter in a barrack.
