Dalar was the sergeant of the reserves in Amaram's army on Roshar.[1]
Dalar was a lanky man, and he only had three fingers on one of his hands.[1]
He was a superior officer of both Tien and Kaladin.[1] Dalar claimed that Tien's squad of spearmen would never be used unless the army was in serious danger. He told Kaladin that Tien had been assigned to Brightlord Sheler's company during the a battle with Brightlord Hallaw.
