Espinablanca

Plantilla:Flora & Fauna Whitespines were dangerous crustaceans that lived on Roshar.

Appearance

They were as large as horses, with a carapaced back and a reptilian appearance. They also had long white tusks that could be broken off inside of people that the whitespine had impaled. Whitespines had claws and smelled quite unpleasant, especially when they were wet. They also had a nose of some sort that allowed them to sniff and sneeze.

Habitat

Whitespines lived in packs with dens that were often strewn with the bones of the creatures they had killed. Sometimes they would live near roadways to go pick travels off to eat. They were native to Alethkar and possibly other areas.

History

Whitespines were often hunted by lighteyes and their darkeyed attendants, especially if the whitespines had been killing humans.

Brightlord Roshone and his son Rillir, along with Alds and Milp went hunting for whitespine that had been attacking travelers. They were attacked by the whitespine and Rillir was killed, and likely so were Alds and Milp. Roshone survived the attack, but lost his leg.
