The Radiants were divided into ten different orders, each of which somehow corresponds with one of the Heralds. Each Order had two powers associated with it, and each power was used by two different Orders. According to Teft among these Powers were the Ability to fly, walk on walls, make stone melt by looking at it, move great distances in a single heartbeat, command the sunlight, and more.

The Knights Radiant were an organization of Surgebinding warriors on Roshar.

The home of the Radiants was the country of Alethela, and the orders were centered in Urithiru.

Orders and Powers

The Radiants were divided into ten different orders, each of which somehow corresponds with one of the Heralds. Each Order had two powers associated with it, and each power was used by two different Orders. According to Teft among these Powers were the Ability to fly, walk on walls, make stone melt by looking at it, move great distances in a single heartbeat, command the sunlight, and more. The Knights Radiant used Shardblades and Shardplate, which were etched with glyphs and glowed a different color according to the Order they were a part of. Each Radiant was bonded to a spren, and that spren determines the powers and order the Radiant belongs to.

Orders included the Order of Stonewards, the Order of Windrunners, and possibly Dustbringers. The Knights Radiant used a system of powers known as Surgebinding.

Windrunners

The Windrunners were an order of Radiants who used two primary types of Surgebinding, gravity and atmospheric pressure. The combination of these two Surges resulted in three seperate powers which were known as the Three Lashings. The glow of their Shardplate was blue.

Soulcasters

Soulcasters were both a type of fabrial and a Radiant power. The fabrials were based off of and named after the Radiants who used this power. The ability was derived from using stormlight trapped in gemstones to transform one thing into one of the Ten Essences, depending on what gemstone was used.

Dustbringers

The Dustbringers could apparently burn things, mostly combustible items, though occasionally rock.

Stoneward

The glow of their Shardplate was amber. With the combination of topaz and heliodor fixed in metal, one could regrow flesh and bone. The combination was called a Regrowth; however, this may be a kind of fabrial and not a power of the order.

Ideals

The Ideals of the Knights Radiant are a set of ideals that each Radiant follows. Each Order has five Ideals that are different form the other orders' Ideals. However, the First Ideal for each order is the same.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.

—The First Ideal of the Knights Radiant

After the First Ideal, the next four Ideals for each Order is different. For example, the Second Ideal for one Order, speculated to be the Windrunners, is:

I will protect those who cannot protect themselves.

—The Second Ideal of the Windrunners

Vorinism

In Vorinism, the fall of the Knights Radiant was called the Recreance.

Vorinism taught that the Radiants betrayed the people. It was taught that their powers were not real, but elaborate tricks, and that they only pretended to have a holy calling. The "evidence" for this was that the powers could not be reproduced.
