Lopen's mother is a Herdazian woman. Her name is not currently known. At some point during the War of Reckoning she and her family moved to Little Herdaz, a section of Highprince Sebarial's warcamp on the Shattered Plains.[1] They now live in Urithiru along with many of the inhabitants of the former warcamps.[2]
She speaks Alethi with a thick accent, and can be extremely forceful in personality. When a wounded King Elhokar was recovering in Little Herdaz, Lopen's mother forced the king to eat despite his objections. She said he looked so pale, and she did not want Elhokar found when he was not properly fed.[1]
Lopen's mother appears to have some influence among her relatives. Upon her urging, one of Lopen's cousins, Punio, decided to join Bridge Four.[1]
She encouraged Lopen's self-deprecating jokes back when he was still missing his left arm, telling him to laugh before others could laugh at him.[3]
