Lopen's extended family is large, he has many cousins. This is common among Herdazian families. Several of his cousins join bridge four, because apparently this sort of group joining is common among Herdazians since nobody can tell them all apart. After Kaladin rescues King Elhokar from Moash and his team, he hides the king in Lopen's house. Lopen's mother apparently has ultimate authority in her house, and forces King Elhokar to eat his lunch.
