Ruin's Shardpool was a Shardpool of a reflective black liquid metal that belonged the Shard Ruin.

Ruin's Shardpool was a manifestation of his gathered consciousness, much like the darker mists.

History

When Alendi and Rashek were climbing the Terris mountains, to the Well of Ascension, they encountered Ruin's Shardpool. Alendi's companion, Fedik showed interest in the pool but Alendi refused to let him take samples. The mist spirit stabbed Fedik shortly afterward, possibly due to his interest in Ruin's pool.

When Rashek took the power at the Well, he moved Ruin's Shardpool underground, where it remained at least up until the Final Ascension. It is unknown whether or not the Shardpool was in the Pits of Hathsin, which contained smaller wells in the form of crystals which produced atium. It was possibly destroyed during the Final Ascension, like the Pits and the Well.

Trivia

• Keep Lekal had stained glass windows that depicted Ruin's Shardpool.
• Before Brandon changed the location of the Well of Ascension to Luthadel, Vin and Elend discovered Ruin's Shardpool near the Well.
