El Libro del falso amanecer es un texto subversivo escrito durante la era del Imperio Final por Deluse Couvre. Está entre los libros que Elend Venture deja en la mesa en el primer baile al que asiste Vin como Valette Renoux. Está disimulado como un pequeño volumen negro bajo el título Weather Patterns of the Northern Dominance sin página de título o autor.[1]
Kelsier informa a Vin que cualquier guardador podría citarlo entero, aunque la mayoría de las copias físicas han sido destruidas. Lo señala como el libro "older" que no fomentaba la rebelión abiertamente. El ministerio nunca prohibió el libro, esperando que su densidad lo condenase al olvido.[2]

For a nation ruled by a self-proclaimed divinity, the empire has experienced a frightening number of colossal leadership errors. Most of these have been successfully covered up, and can only be found in the metalminds of Feruchemists or on the pages of banned texts. However, one only need look to the near past to note such blunders as the Massacre at Devanex, the revision of the Deepness Doctrine, and the relocation of the Renates peoples.
The Lord Ruler does not age. That much, at least, is undeniable. This text, however, purports to prove that he is by no means infallible.
