Before joining Kelsier's crew he had worked with Breeze, whom he shared an unusual relationship with; although Breeze enjoyed Ham's company he outwardly complained regarding Ham's habit of thinking situations through philosophically. Ham had a wife and children, who he preferred to distance himself from while working on thieving jobs for their own protection, sometimes going months without seeing them.
