An evanotype is a photograph created through an early form of image capture technique on Scadrial invented after the Catacendre.

Someone has developed an evanoscope, an image projector, which the kandra VenDell considers will be quite popular. He tells Wax, Wayne and Marasi that Harmony let slip about moving images.[1]

Trivia

Evanotypes are probably inspired by the real world daguerreotypes, products of an early form of photographic process also called the daguerreotype. Just as the daguerreotype was named after its inventor, Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre, evanotypes might be named after the Scadrian inventor responsible for them.
