El sistema roshariano, también conocido como Gran Roshar, es el nombre dado al sistema planetario que contiene al planeta llamado Roshar.[1] Consta de trece planetas, tres de los cuales están habitados, además del habitual cinturón de asteroides, y tres lunas que en conjunto suman un total de dieciséis cuerpos celestes (un número importante en el Cosmere).[2]

Planetas
El sistema roshariano está compuesto de tres planetas terrestres y diez gigantes gaseosos, separados por el cinturón de asteroides. En orden desde el sol, los planetas terrestres son:
Aquí es donde tiene lugar The Silence Divine. Aunque hay humanos habitando este planeta, un cataclismo global ocurrido en algún momento en el pasado forzó a la mayoría de sus habitantes a huir a Roshar, mientras que el resto vive en ciudades flotantes en el cielo. Es probable que el cataclismo fuese causado por el uso excesivo de las Potencias por la gente de Ashyn, y ha dejado la superficie con una gran actividad volcánica. Hay una manifestación de Investidura conocida en Ashyn basada en enfermedades que otorgan Potencias, pero no hay ninguna Esquirla que se sepa.[3]
El segundo planeta es el mundo esquirlado epónimo de Gran Roshar, y el escenario principal de El archivo de las tormentas. Las Esquirlas de Honor y Cultivación can be found here. Roshar presenta un único supercontinente, también llamado Roshar, donde viven sus habitantes. El planeta está orbitado por tres lunas, Salas, Nomon, y Mishim. La mayoría de las formas de vida consciente del sistema roshariano viven en Roshar.
Se trata de un planeta frío, quizás fuera de la zona habitable. Aunque ningún humano vive aquí, existen Astillas conscientes que habitan o bien el planeta, o bien su manifestación cognitiva.[1] Braize es el lugar en el que reside la Esquirla de Odium.[4] En la mitología roshariana, se hace referencia a Braize como Condenación, y es donde los Heraldos de Roshar volvían entre Desolaciones.[5]
Más allá del cinturón de asteroides hay diez gigantes gaseosos. Estos planetas exteriores reciben su nombre de los números Vorin y son Jes, Nan, Chach, Vev, Palah, Shash, Betab, Kak, Tanat, e Ishi, en orden creciente de distancia desde el sol. Los gigantes gaseosos rosharianos tienen una presencia menor en Shadesmar, lo que indica que se encuentran deshabitados. Ninguno de estos planetas tiene lunas o sistemas de anillos.[2]
Astronomía
En el Cosmere, el sistema roshariano se encuentra situado entre Taldain, Scadrial, Nalthis y Sel, y es el más cercano a este último. Es una de las estrellas en la constelación del Caballero.[6][7] En el Reino Cognitivo, Shadesmar está rodeado de cuatro Extensiones. La Extensión de los Vapores conduce a Scadrial, mientras que la Extensión de las Densidades lleva a Sel. Se cree que la Extensión de la Intensidad[8] conduce a Nalthis.[9] It is currently unknown which planet the Expanse of the Broken Sky leads to.[10]

Inhabitants
The Rosharan system is inhabited by several sentient species. This includes humans on both Ashyn and Roshar; Singers, Siah Aimians and the Sleepless on Roshar; and a vast number of sentient spren. Braize also contains a large population of Cognitive Shadows of Singers, called the Fused, who migrate to Roshar during Desolations.
It is likely that Roshar saw several waves of human immigration, as the Iriali may be later arrivals than other Rosharan humans.[11]
History
The Rosharan system was created prior to the Shattering, and was crafted directly by Adonalsium.[12][13] The system was created for a specific purpose.[14] The Rosharan spren Stormfather and the Singers likely predate it as well.
After the Shattering, the Shards Honor and Cultivation settled on Roshar, becoming the gods of Singer people. Humans initially settled on Ashyn, but following the destruction of its environment, migrated to Roshar, and were granted the land that comprises modern Shinovar. The Shard Odium arrived on Roshar alongside them, and while the Singers believe it to be the human god, the exact relation is unclear.[15] Honor trapped Odium in the system by unknown means, and the shard settled on Braize. However, when the relationship between humans and Singers deteriorated to the point of war, Odium took the Singers under his wing, creating the first Fused and starting the cycle of Desolations, periodic invasions of Roshar.[16] During that time, Honor was killed by Odium, but his pact with Odium, along with the Oathpact that governs the Desolations, prevented Odium from leaving the system.[17]
Over the past 4.5 thousand years, the Rosharan system has enjoyed a period of relative stability, although this ended with the start of the True Desolation.
Mythology
Several of the Rosharan system's celestial bodies have legends associated with them.
The planets
Ashyn, though not known by that name to Roshar's inhabitants, is likely the Tranquiline Halls, the mythological homeworld of mankind in the Vorin creation myth. Rosharans believe that after death, they will fight to reclaim them from the Voidbringers, and that this is where the Heralds departed to following the Aharietiam. Braize, on the other hand, is a known name for Damnation, the place where, in Rosharan myths and legends, Voidbringers live. In Vorin cosmology, Damnation is the afterlife for particularly wicked souls.[18]
The moons
Many Rosharan cultures personify the three moons as semi-divine beings. In Shinovar, they are known as the Three Sisters, with Salas being the First Sister, Nomon the Second Sister, and Mishim the Third Sister. In Natanatan, Nomon is considered to be male.
A particular myth from Natanatan concerns the latter two moons and the local queen, Tsa. In the story, Mishim (characterized as young and impulsive) wishes to experience human pleasures, and attempts to persuade Tsa to swap places with her. Tsa eventually relents, agreeing to take Mishim's place for one night. However, Mishim fails to return before dawn, and fears that Tsa will tell her older siblings about the ruse. The following night, she attempts to go back, only to find out that Tsa enjoys her time in the night sky too much to switch back. While Mishim manages to convince Tsa to return, nine months later the queen gives birth to a blue-skinned child. Mishim realizes that she's been conned, and Tsa wanted to visit the night sky all along, as she wished to lay with Nomon.[19]
The legend serves as an explanation for the Natan people's unusual skin tone.
