Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians: The Dark Talent is the final book of the five-part series Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians.[1][2] Brandon has also referred to it as "Alcatraz versus His Own Stupid Self". It was released on September 6, 2016.

Summary
Behind the Scenes
Brandon always planned for the Alcatraz series to consist of five books, Scholastic, the original publisher, however, only bought the first four. For a variety of reasons, including Scholastic being unwilling to make a contract for the fifth book, Brandon bought back the rights in early 2013.[1] He later re-sold the series, including book 5, to Tor.[4]
Following a month of research for The Aztlanian, Brandon spent June 2014 writing the first draft of Alcatraz 5.[5]
