La Cicatriz es un sistema estelar prominente en el Cosmere[1] que puede ser visto desde múltiples planetas.[2][3] También se le conoce como el Cinturón de Estrellas, la Cicatriz de Taln y la Grieta Roja.

Description

La Cicatriz es una región de estrellas[4] que resulta inusualmente brillante.[5][3] En una carta estelar del Cosmere que fue encargada por un mecenas desconocido,[6] la Cicatriz incluye una constelación conocida como "El Dragón".[6][1] La mayoría de las estrellas de la Cicatriz tienen un tinte rojo en la carta,[1] y se perciben como rojas cuando se ven desde varios planetas, a diferencia de otras estrellas.[7][8] El color es significativo,[9] probablemente por la asociación de Trell con ambas estrellas y el color rojo, pero aún se desconoce la razón.

La forma aparente de la Cicatriz varía según el punto de vista en el Cosmere. No siempre es visible en todos los planetas.[10][3] Esto se debe a la posición de los distintos sistemas planetarios[3] y a factores locales como la niebla o la ceniza.[11]

En Treno, la Cicatriz es conocida como el Cinturón de Estrellas.[12][3] Treno no tiene luna,[13] lo que hace que las noches sean extremadamente oscuras. El Cinturón de Estrellas suele ser lo suficientemente brillante para iluminar débilmente los objetos, incluso cuando la luz se filtra entre las ramas de los árboles.[12] Treno puede estar relativamente cerca de la Cicatriz, ya que Silencio Montane da a entender que la posición del Cinturón Estelar en el cielo cambia cada día.[12] Los habitantes de Treno no describen la luz del Cinturón Estelar como roja. La mayoría de la gente en Roshar se refiere a la cicatriz como la Cicatriz de Taln, nombrada así por el Heraldo conocido como Taln.[8] La cicatriz de Taln es descrita de un color rojo profundo, y cambia de posición en las diferentes estaciones.[8] Es visible antes de que se ponga el sol yaparezcan otras estrellas blancas parpadeantes [15](acompañadas de estrellaspren). La Lágrima de Reya es otra estrella notablemente brillante en el cielo, pero no forma parte de la Cicatriz de Taln. Roshar tiene tres lunas que salen y se ponen durante la noche[16]. Post-Catacendre Scadrial

“The mists were out, curling around outside, though the skyscraper was tall enough he thought he could see stars and the Red Rip through that mist. ”

During the Catacendre, Harmony moves Scadrial back to its original orientation and orbit.[27] Hundreds of years later, Waxillium Ladrian sees a celestial phenomenon known as the Red Rip on several occasions, although he seems to view it as mundane. The Red Rip is not described in detail, but it is prominent on cloudless nights, and sometimes sits low on the horizon.[7] It is bright enough that it can sometimes be seen through the mists when they are present if observed at high enough elevation.[26] When Wax is temporarily dead, Harmony shows him a seemingly troublesome red haze that is enveloping Scadrial,[28] but this haze is not necessarily related to the Red Rip.[29]
