The Shard -- or Shards -- who have claimed Obrodai have manifested an "avatar of their being" on Obrodai; an unknown female entity who has been instilled with a great dislike of Hoid in order to prevent his returning there.[1]
It is, possibly, a water-based environment, although the Vessel who spoke of "waters" with regards to Obrodai may have used the term figuratively, meaning their "domain". Some sort of trial was created by the Shard located here, completing the Shard's tests will gain the Shard's respect. [1]
