Fantasy novels. Ah, well. Rot your brain if you want. You’re old enough that I can’t tell you what to do, though I’m glad you kicked that bed-wetting habit before you moved out!

—Pattywagon Smedry to her son Folsom[1]

Pattywagon Smedry is the daughter of Leavenworth Smedry and the sister of Attica Smedry and Kazan Smedry. Her Smedry Talent is the ability to say inappropriate things at awkward moments.[2]. Her name is a reference to the nickname "paddy wagon" for a police vehicle used to transport prisoners.

Appearance and Personality

Pattywagon has short blond hair and a full figure. She is full of enthusiasm and affectionate but usually embarrassing and often overwhelming. Her Talent is enhanced by a voice that carries well and cuts through general surrounding noise. [2]

History

Alcatraz meets Pattywagon at a meeting of the Council of Kings when she interrupts the proceedings to boisterously greet Alcatraz and her father Leavenworth.[2] She acts as a guide for Alcatraz to help him find her son Folsom. On their journey, she tells Alcatraz about Transporter's Glass and critiques some of Attica's theories.[3]

Once they find Folsom at the ice cream parlor, Pattywagon does her best to fend off Alcatraz's hoards of fans, much to his chagrin. Once she gets them settled, Pattywagon leaves them to return to the court discussion. [1]

During the battle that ensues after the potential treaty is rejected, Pattywagon provides a distraction that gives Alcatraz and Grandpa Smedry time to get to King Dartmoor to defend him.[4]
