“To a Seon there is no above or beneath, there are only those we love. And we serve those we love.”
—Ien to Raoden[1]
Ien was the Seon bound to Prince Raoden of Arelon.[2] He was named for Aon Ien, which meant "Wisdom" and was used for healing in AonDor.
When Raoden was taken by the Shaod Ien underwent a similar change, loosing his sentient connection to Raoden. Though he seemed to follow Raoden in Elantris too, they were not able to communicate with one another.[3]
