El AonDor es la manifestación de Investidura que se localiza en el planeta Sel y es utilizada por los Elantrinos.[3] Este sistema implica el uso de los aones, variados en su forma, los cuales extraen la energía del Dor y que deben ajustarse al paisaje.
Prerrequisitos
Solo un Elantrino posee la capacidad para extraer poder del Dor utilizando los aones.[4] Esto significa que para poder utilizar el AonDor, la persona debe ser inicialmente de ascendencia aónica.[5] A continuación, dicha persona debe ser escogida por la Shaod. Su piel brillará, su cabello se volvera blanco, y adquirirán la habilidad para dibujar aones que canalicen el Dor.[3]
Dibujando aones
A la hora de dibujar un aon funcional, el Elantrino que lo dibuja debe de tener la intención de querer hacerlo, o por el contrario las líneas relucientes que se utilizan para trazar el aon no aparecerán.[4] Los Elantrinos pueden usar sus dedos para dibujar los aones, pudiendo dar a las líneas diferentes anchuras con cada dedo. Se pueden utilizar otros objetos para trazar los aones, tales como una pluma o un palo.[6] Además, los Elantrinos pueden crear los aones a partir de otros materiales, como el alambre o la piedra. De este modo pueden crear amuletos, y objetos parecidos, que proporcionen un efecto mágico propiamente dicho.[7] Si no se termina de dibujar un aon por comopleto, al poco tiempo desaparecerá sin producir efecto alguno.[8]
Each Aon has a unique effect, which is determined by its shape. Aon Aon is the starting point for every other Aon.[9] It appears that the energy can only get to the Physical Realm in certain pulse lengths and frequencies, so an Aon’s shape only allows for a certain frequency to escape, which has a specific effect.[10] If an Aon is the wrong shape, it may do nothing, and the Aon will flash once and fade away.[8] An Aon drawn incorrectly with an omission of basic lines would begin the process of the Aon, but stop in the middle of the process due to not having enough energy from the Dor.[9] Sometimes if it is targeted at a person or group of people, it could cause them to appear like a Reod Elantrian.[11] The size of an Aon can affect its power.[12] Aons can also be combined together.[13] Aons can be given more control or strength when the width of the lines match the proper locations that correspond with Arelon.[6]
Aons can only be destroyed by an Elantrian. Unless destroyed by an Elantrian an Aon will continue to function even if it is scuffed or erased.[14] It is possible for AonDor to negate effects granted by Dakhor.[15]
Modificadores al aon
While Aons are undoubtedly powerful, in order to specify certain traits, like how long a column of fire from an Aon Ehe will last, or where an Aon Tia will take you, additional lines must be drawn around the central Aon to modify its effects.[7][9]

- Linking Aons - used to link subsections of Aon lists together, it controls the timing of when other Aons take effect.[9][16]
- Setting off different chains of Aons.[17]
- Modifying power levels of Aon effects.[6]
- Modifying the range of Aons.[18]
Ecuaciones de aones
In extremely advanced uses of AonDor, multiple Aons can be used in conjunction to modify each other in Aon equations.[19] These are used to channel the Dor in the most specific ways allowed by AonDor. With it, Elantrians could fabricate any object out of nothing, although the sheer skill and practice required makes Elantrians who can do this extremely rare.[19] In addition to its regular effect, it appears that each Aon has a secondary effect that can be used in the Aon equations.
Relación con Arelon
AonDor has a specific tie to the land of Arelon.[5] The base Aon Aon is shaped like the land of Arelon, with its lines and dot representing the coast, Atad Mountains, and Lake Alonoe.[8] Every Aon reflects some trait of the land, such as the Dii, the Aon for wood, contain circles where the forests of Arelon fall.[6] This is a very fluid relationship; as the land changes so do the Aons. When an earthquake created a chasm in the south of Arelon, a new line was required in every Aon to make it functional.[6] AonDor's power will diminish the further an Elantrian travels from the city of Elantris.[7][20]
It is possible to create another city similar to Elantris in other locations on Sel.[21] The Ire created a base similar to it in the Cognitive Realm of Scadrial, though in order for this to work, Investiture from Sel needs to be piped to it.[22] There are, however, other ways to achieve the same effect.[23]
AonDor will not normally work on planets other than Sel,[24][25] but it is possible to hack the magic system and get it to work on other planets.[26] A Full Feruchemist could use an unsealed nicrosilmind to create a medallion that allows an Elantrian to store their Connection to Elantris for magic to work at full potential far from Elantris.[27]
Historia
Los primeros Elantrinos
King Rhashm led his people from other lands to Arelon, discovering the city of Elantris completely abandoned. Despite superstition about Elantris being haunted, Rhashm made it his capital. After a few decades, Princess Elashe, one of his descendants, was the first Aonic person to be taken by the Shaod to become an Elantrian.[28]
El Reod

La restauración de Elantris
