'''Earthquales''' are a believed extinct race on [[Roshar]]. Many theories regarding their genealogy link them with modern [[greatshellsgreatshell]]s. The pictures in [[Jasnah]]'s book, however, may contain the last surviving image of an earthquale; one that fans speculate to be a [[Voidbringer]] is infact closer in description of appearance to the legendary earthquales.
 
Ruling in mythic years, earthquales kept the land together, with their might and strength they were the pillars in the cavernous undergrounds that, without their presense in the modern day, cracked and splintered to form the Shattered Plains. Without their presense much of Roshar's landscape changed and the Highstorms ravaged where once the mighty earthquales kept them at bay.
