Los conceptos de Mandato e [[Intención (investidura)|Intención]] están fundamentalmente relacionados. Mientras que la Intención de una persona abarca de una manera más amplia aquello que están intentando conseguir, el Mandato son las palabras concretas que utiliza para expresar dicha Intención. Por ejemplo, si alguien [[Despertar|despierta]] un objeto con las instrucción de “coger llaves”, el Mandato es precisamente esa orden mientras que la Intención incluiría el deseo del despertador de escapar de dondequiera que esté encerrado. Las palabras del Mandato ayudan a focalizar la Intención; pero dependiendo del tipo de Arte Investida en cuestión, la habilidad de la persona haciendo el Mandato y otros factores, la propia Investidura también puede comprender la Intención que hay detrás y no sólo el Mandato. Incluso aquellos que tienen un conocimiento relativamente amplio acerca del funcionamiento del Cosmere, como [[Vasher]], tienden a confundir el Mandato con su Intención asociada, y muchas veces no hay una diferencia apreciable. The concepts of Command and Intent are fundamentally intertwined. While a person's Intent more broadly encompasses what they are trying to accomplish, the Command is the narrower words they use to express that Intent. For example, if someone creates an [[Awakening|Awakened]] object with the instructions "fetch keys," the Command is exactly that whereas the Intent would include the Awakener's broader desire to escape whatever is imprisoning them and be free. The words of the Command help focus the Intent, but, depending on the Invested Art involved, the skill of the person making the Command, and other factors, the Investiture involved can also understand the broader Intent involved, not just the Command.
