She was [[Kelsier]]'s late wife and collected pre-Ascension artefacts, including a picture of a [[Mare's flower|flower]].{{ref|b|mb1|p|243}} She introduced [[Sazed]] to Kelsier, and followed the pre-ascension religion of [[Larstaism]].{{ref|b|mb3|c|10}} She wished for children.{{ref|b|mb1|c|17}}
She was suspected of betraying Kelsier when his crew infiltrated [[Kredik Shaw]] a number of years before the fall of the [[Final Empire]].{{ref|b|mb3|c|16}} It is discovered later that the [[Lord Ruler]] was able to pierce the crew's smoker [[copper]]cloud and was able to sense Mare burning [[tin]].{{ref|[[Vin]] can pierce [[copper]]clouds}}
She died in the [[Pits of Hathsin]] after being caught in Kredik Shaw. This event triggered Kelsier's snapping, and he escaped the Pits soon after.{{ref|b|mb1|c|17}}
