Despite the fact that Eelakin trappers are always men, Yaalani is famous for ignoring custom and traveling to the [[Pantheon]] to trap the [[Aviar]].{{book ref|sixth}} She is the only female trapper recorded in Eelakin history. Her story is often told to young girls.
[[Vathi]], a well-educated Eelakin woman, grew up listening to stories of Yaalani the Brave.{{book ref|sixth}} She has since learned of stories from many other cultures where women served in roles traditionally held by men, such as warriors, generals, and trappers. Vaathi believes that Yaalani is merely a myth told to girls by their parents to convince them that they are not Yalaani and cannot break tradition.
