Little is known of the extremely distant past of the cosmere: the time before the Shattering of Adonalsium and the Shards. It is not even clear who or what Adonalsium exactly is. Is it a god, the God? Is it a force, or person? Through unknown means, Adonalsium was broken, in an event called the Shattering. Hoid was present,{{qa ref|747|11|Hoid was at the Shattering of Adonalsium|date=Mar 17th, 2012}} and due to Hoid being from Yolen, it is thought that this event occurred on Yolen.
