Before he became returned, Vasher was a scribe. People hired him to discover where they'd been cheated or if a contract hadn't been paid properly.
Vasher's life before his Return is unknown. The [[Cult of the Returned]] named him "Warbreaker the Peaceful."▼
He died saving his niece, Tatara, when she fell over the rail of the "Red Panther", his brother's ship.
