Teft ha tenido una adicción al [[musgoardiente]] desde su estancia en el ejército de [[Torol Sadeas|Sadeas]],{{book ref|sa3|41}} lo que es una causa de vergüenza personal y dolor; durante sus muchas conversaciones con Kaladin, Teft recalca repetidamente que no es de fiar.{{book ref|sa2|12}} Incluso tras vincularse con [[Phendorana]], desarrolla sentimientos de insuficiencia y vergüenza durante un tiempo, creyendo que es incapaz de defender los ideales de un Radiante debido a sus acciones pasadas.{{book ref|sa3|41}} Phendorana eventualmente cambia su perspectiva, y encuentra dentro de él una profunda determinación para esforzarse por el beneficio de aquellos a los que ama aunque falle a veces. As a Windrunner, Teft has the ability to manipulate the [[Surges]] of [[Adhesion]] and [[Gravitation]] through his [[Nahel bond]] with his [[honorspren]].{{book ref|sa1|57}} By breathing in [[Stormlight]], he gains superhuman strength, speed, agility, durability, stamina, and healing for the duration of his access to Stormlight.{{book ref|sa1|62}} While his [[Phendorana|honorspren]] is present with him, his movements are enhanced by her.
