Actual Article Draft

The Coup of Urteau was one of the major events on Scadrial between the end of the Final Empire and Sazed's ascension.

After the fall of the Lord Ruler, Quellion, also known as the Citizen, seized power by invoking Kelsier's authority as Lord of the Mists.[2]

Summary: Quellion seizes power. Vin sneaks in. Spook is sent. Sazed, Breeze sent. Executions, Spook spike. Final execution, rebellion. Spook removes spike, frees canals (Sazed's engineering), fires put out. Their plan. I will check the order, other notable events when I have access to the whole book.

Quellion rules in Urteau since Straff Venture left to besiege Luthadel. Elend sent Spook to the city to gauge its political climate. Spook, Sazed and Breeze try to reason with Quellion, but decide to take him down instead RESULTS OF REASONING?. They attempt to incite a revolution, but discover that they have been playing into the hands of Ruin, who has been subtly influencing both Spook and Quellion via Hemalurgic Spikes. A fire breaks out, threatening to destroy the town, but Spook removes the spikes THESE TWO THINGS SEEM UNCONNECTED and floods the Canals, saving the city.[3]

Importance of Urteau

Urteau was important because it was situated upon the canals, which meant that the city controlled every shipment of merchandise that needed to get to other cities including Luthadel. Since ships are one of the only ways to transport heavy merchandise at a reasonable speed, through taxes and other fees, the city has quickly risen to become one of the most important ones in the area.[Falta cita] However, during the events of the book, the canals are dried and is used as roads or as a place where the homeless skaas can spend the night.[Falta cita]

It was known for its "streetslots," dried up canals that served as streets.[2]

Urteau was the capital city of the Northern Dominance in the Final Empire. [Falta cita] (from Urteau article).

Urteau was also the location of one of the Lord Ruler's storage caverns.[1] It contained not only food, resources and equipment, but also information about electrum and the upcoming danger that Ruin represented.[Falta cita]CITE THIS AND IMPROVE The Lord Ruler redirected the canals' water to the city's storage cavern. This caused the canals to dry out but ensured a fresh water supply for the cavern.[Falta cita]

These are reasons why Elend sent Spook to the city of Urteau to gauge the political climate. (This sentence needs to change and maybe not be its own paragraph. I guess it just feels like an essay conclusion, not needed here. In event summary put "Elend sent Spook to the city to gauge its political climate.")

Political climate of Urteau

This seems more like something to put in a city article, not an event article, at least the title. With the collapse of the Final Empire, the people of Urteau followed the rebellion along with many cities. A skaa named Quellion takes the power of the city, and gives himself the title The Citizen. COMBINE THESE TWO. After the fall of the Lord Ruler, Quellion, also known as the Citizen, seized power by invoking Kelsier's authority as Lord of the Mists.[2]
