Due to her [[Surgebinding#Lightweaving|abilities]] it is likely that she can change her appearance at will. As [[Baxil]]'s mistress, Shalash hadhas dark skin and long black hair. She hadhas [[Shin]] -like eyes which are so strongly violet they are said to be nearly white and is tall and lean like an [[Alethi]]. Shalash seems to be a brutal and unforgiving person, as [[Av]] mentions to [[Baxil]] that he should only ask their mistress about why she destroys artworks depicting herself if he isn't too attached to his own limbs and wouldn't mind losing them.{{book ref|sa1|I|7}} [[Torol Sadeas]] mentions to [[Adolin]] that he had a "shalashian" temper, which apparently meant he was too impatient for a position such as being Highprince of Information.{{book ref|sa2|49}}
