They live in the area of Roshar known as the [[Shattered plains]] and seem to be related to (and physically resemble in some aspects) [[Parshmen|The Parshmen]]. However, the Parshendi are mentally much more intelligent than the Parshmen. Male Parshendi grow beards, which they thread through beads infused with [[stormlight]]
Originally discovered by [[Gavilar|King Gavilar]] during a hunting trip, not much is known about the way of the Parshendi. They also appear to have a form of {{wp|Collective_consciousness|hive mind}}.
Physically, the parshendi are well built and pale with marbled colors on their skin. They also grow a form of chitinous armor on their chests and head.
They hired [[Szeth]] to assassinate the King of Alethkar, [[Gavilar]], on the eve of a treaty with the Alethkar people. He was told to wear white because it is a Parshendi tradition for assassinations.
They seem to have an affection for the drum and other rhythmic instruments.
