Melali is quite bitter towards Adolin, and insults him and [[Dalinar Kholin]], saying that she was surprised Dalinar let him finally duel, as he might hurt himself. Adolin jokes that it is nice to see her too, and asks how Melali's sister is. Melali tartly responds that her sister is off limits, and Adolin remembers that her sister was the reason why Melali despised him so, presumably because Adolin flirted with her sister.
