There, after the death of his wife, he "snapped", becoming a Mistborn. Using Allomancy he was able to escape the Pits and return to Luthadel where, after gathering his team, he set in motion a plan to destroy the Final Empire and kill the Lord Ruler. He died fighting the Lord Ruler after killing a Steel Inquisitor.
