Allí, Kaladin y su familia se sorprendieron al saber que [[Laral]] se había comprometido con el propio Roshone tras la muerte de [[Rillir]]. Mientras tanto, como sólo se habían presentado seis hombres como voluntarios, Amaram pidió a Roshone que anunciara la lista de reclutas. Como consistor de la ciudad, Roshone no podía incluir a [[Lirin]] ni a Kaladin en la lista de reclutas porque cumplían una función vital para la ciudad.
