Jedal is a large man, often covered with dust and dirt because of his job as a miner. Only a brief flashback describes Jedal, but in that flashback heHe is seen as cruel and brutal, wantingnot hesitating to kill Spookhis becauseown son after learning of his [[Allomancy]].{{book ref|mb3|23}}

Jedal lived in a crowded skaa shack in the Eastern Dominance with his wife, [[Margel]]. They had at least one son, also named Jedal,{{wob ref|6098}} but later called Lestibournes and Spook. Jedal did not approve of Spook running around in the streets and was annoyed by his use of [[High Imperial|eastern street slang]].{{book ref|mb3|23}}
Jedal was a [[skaa]] miner. He was married to [[Margel]], and was the father of [[Spook]]. Jedal discovered Spook was an allomancer when Spook was young. Too frightened to turn Spook in to the Steel Ministry, Jedal decided to kill Spook himself. Before he could, however, [[Clubs]], Jedal's brother-in-law, intervened. Clubs paid Jedal for Spook's life, and nothing more is known of what happened to Jedal.{{book ref|mb3|23}}

However, Jedal and some other skaa soon learned of Spook's secret and tracked him down. Fearing further retribution from the Steel Ministry, Jedal decided to kill Spook himself to keep his powers a secret. Before he could, Clubs intervened, trading a bag of coins to Jedal for Spook's life. Jedal was angry that Margel had contacted her brother behind his back, but took the deal.{{book ref|mb3|23}} He seemingly kept his word and did not betray Clubs to the Steel Ministry after he left with Spook.{{book ref|mb3|26}}
