A '''gyorn''' was one of the highest obtainable ranks in the [[Derethi]] priesthood on [[Sel]]. They answered only to the [[Wyrn]] and to some of the Gragdets. They wore ceremonial red armor as a sign of their rank and were some of the most important people in the [[Fjordell]] Empire. During the events preceding the [[invasion of Arelon]] there were only 20 Gyorns in the entire [[Fjordell]] Empire.{{ref|b|e|c|5}}
A gyorn ambassador briefly appears in the Imperial Palace of the [[Rose Empire]]. [[Shai]] almost runs into him as she runs through the hallways after sealing [[Ashravan]] with his new soul.{{ref|b|tes|day|98}}
