A wounded [[Elhokar|King Elhokar]] was taken to Lopen's home in Little Herdaz to recover after a failed attempt on the king's life. Deciding to conceal the king for his own safety, but being averse to lying, Lopen's family members somehow persuaded the Elhokar to temporarily abdicate in favor of Lopen so that they could truthfully say that "King Elhokar" was not with them.
