Alaward, being a part of the same squad as Kaladin was recruited to, knew Kaladin as a fellow soldier. Alaward and another member named [[Vaceslv]] tried multiple times to get Kaladin to play cards with them, though Kaladin declined, thinking of his experiences with [[Sah]] and the other [[Voidbringers]].{{book ref|sa3|73}} Alaward is presumably there with Platoon Seven, Squad Two during the [[Fused]] raids. He is also probably present when Highmarshall [[Azure]] reveals how she supplies food for the army. Alaward, along with the rest of Noro's squad, follows Kaladin into Kholinar Palace and fights in the [[Battle of Kholinar]].{{book ref|sa3|84}} It is assumed that he dies, along with the other soldiers, in the fighting.
