[[Siri]] and [[Susebron]] lie in bed in the morning. She ponders their relationship and fears the consequences of their actions (i.e. having sex and possibly producing a child). They express their love to each other. Susebron wants to assert his authority as the God King and take control of the government. They discuss enlisting the help of [[Lightsong]] since he cannot speak. They discuss the alternate plan of fleeing, but Susebron believes that this will only be abandoning Irdris to invasion. If they were to flee, Siri worries that he will die without his weekly [[Breath|Breaths]], but he explains that he can feed off of the treasure one Breath per week. They decide to implement his plan.
