After [[Ati]] and [[Vin]] had perished during the [[Battle of Hathsin]], [[Sazed]] connected with the two shards [[Preservation]] and [[Ruin]].{{book ref|mb3|82}} He [[Ascension|Ascended]] and became [[Harmony]].{{book ref|aol}} It is not yet clear how Sazed was able to accomplish this, although it can assumed that it was similar to the Ascension of the Lord Ruler, with some variation due to the fact that Sazed was harnessing the power of two Shards, whereas the Lord Ruler was only controlling the power of one Shard.
