Palo era la jefa de seguridad de la base de la Supremacía de [[Fuerteseguro]]. Fue quien instaló las armas no letales en las naves de la Supremacía, alegando que no podían permitirse tirar las naves que habían sido robadas por piratas. Tampoco quería tener que matar a gente con la que simpatizaba. La Supremacía la trató mal y no permitió que sus hijos se marcharan con ella cuando terminó su estancia en la base. Palo se enfadó y desertó, junto con un tercio de la gente de la base. Casi consigue que toda la base se subleve, pero otros temían las represalias de la Supremacía. Palo y sus compañeros disidentes se marcharon para fundar facciones piratas. No eran muchas en aquel momento, pero crecieron mucho con los nuevos miembros. Sus hijos la abandonaron para fundar sus propias facciones, pero algunos, como [[Escalofrío]] y [[RayoZed]], se quedaron con ella.{{book ref|sky3|23}}
Peg was the chief security officer at the Superiority base of [[Surehold]]. Peg was the one who installed the nonlethal weapons on the Superiority ships, saying that they couldn’t afford to throw away the ships that had been stolen by pirates. She also didn’t want to have to kill people who she sympathized with. The Superiority treated her poorly, and didn’t allow her children to leave with her when her time on the base was up. Peg was angry, and defected, along with about a third of the people in the base. She almost got the entire base to revolt, but others were scared of the Superiority’s reprisal. Peg and her fellow dissidents left to start pirate factions. There weren’t many at the time, but they grew greatly with the new members. Both of Peg’s sons left her to start their own factions, but some, like [[Shiver]] and [[RayZed]], stayed with Peg.{{book ref|sky3|23}}
