En contraste con la personalidad de su esposa, el abuelo de Silencio parece ser un hombre bondadoso. Enseñó a Silencio la artesanía de la madera y la cuidó mucho, contándole historias del [[Mundo Caído]].{{book ref|sfs}} Ella le recuerda con cariño. También es claramente un hombre valiente, dispuesto a poner un pie en un continente desconocido y vivir allí. El abuelo de Silencio también sentía un gran amor y respeto por los Bosques del Infierno. Dice que son como una bestia peligrosa, no malvada, pero a la que hay que tratar con cuidado.
In contrast to the personality of his wife, Silence's grandfather seems to be a kindly man.
