Miles Dagouter and Waxillium Ladrian are perhaps more similar than they are different.{{book ref|mb4|11}} They share an odd sort of mutual respect for one another, especially in each other's lawkeeping abilities. Miles is the only man other than Wayne that Wax trusted to watch over Weathering in his absence.{{book ref|mb4|2}} Wax was aware of some of Miles' hatred for the City though, and hoped that he would never act on his feelings.{{book ref|mb4|11}} His own similarity to Miles scares Wax. Miles for his part had huge respect for Wax, particularly for his skill as a Metalborn.{{book ref|mb4|19}}
