Nem was a member of Navani's team of scholars. She examined the black sphere that [[Gavilar]] gave to [[Szeth]]. She concluded that the sphere was practically perfect and could hold [[Stormlight]] for a largevery amount oflong time. Navani asked her and [[Talnah]] to study the black sphere, including trying to use it to power different fabrials.{{book ref|sa4|16}}.
