;Plot Summary
Spensa enters the lightburst, and the delvers are surprised to find her alive. The delvers are furious at Spensa, angry that they know their secrets. Spensa feels tired beneath the onslaught of hateful delvers. Amidst all of the hate, she feels one delver thats different, which emanates courage. Spensa latches onto Chet, and they connect, their essences intertwining. Their minds and souls join together, becoming one. The delvers try to destroy Spensa and Chet, but touching her hurts them. They hate change, while Spensa embraces it. A location clicks into Spensa’s mind, and she hyperjumps back to Detritus, holding Hesho and Doomslug.
