Patches of civilisation remained on Ashyn despite the devastation. The surviving cities took to the skys as floating cities. {{wob ref|8243}} It's magic system in modern times is based off illness,{{wob ref|3086}}{{wob ref|11585}} however this was not always it's magic system.{{wob ref|11304}} The disease based magic works off a symbiotic relationship between [[investiture]] and bacteria.{{wob ref|14143}} One such disease allows the infected to make landmasses float, these are how Ashyn achieves it's famous floating cities.{{wob ref|12271}}
