Dalinar often had a strained relationship with Evi, partially because their marriage was political. He did love her, but felt that he was too good for him. Evi hated the way Dalinar killed so many people without mercy, and they often got into fights which often left Evi in tears. Dalinar tries to evade the topic of him killing whenever he can, but his avoiding it just makes it worse. She cares deeply for Dalinar despite her dislike of violence, and burns prayers constantly for both him and those he slays.
