Could the Purelake be the shardpool of cultivation, or linked to it?
here are some elements that made me think so
- the lake's water is unnaturally pure, especially on a planet where highstorms bring crem everywhere (and the honor visions, and the honor-linked magic users' "mana")
- the lake seems suited for the sustenance of human life, going so far as having "specialised" medicinal or utilitarian fish
