Son bastante comunes en [[Tashikk]] y [[Lift]] los ve crecer en el campo. Lift da a entender que hay un nombre oficial, pero que la mayoría de los lugareños lo llaman por este apodo.{{book ref|sa2.5|1}} Son altos y retorcidos, con lo que parece ser troncos compuestos por enredaderas entrelazadas. Las ramas se extienden hacia el cielo más que crecer hacia los lados.{{book ref|edgedancer|1}}

== Appearance and Anatomy ==
Stumpweight trees are typically around six feet tall. They have thick trunks with a knobby, sometimes scraggly appearance. They tend to grow in small clusters.
 
They have long, "banner-like" leaves that only grow on the leeward side of the trunk to avoid being damaged by [[highstorm]]s. Like several other Rosharan plants, the leaves are retractable and can very rapidly fold up and around the trunk for additional protection. They make an audible whipping sound as they fold.

Drop-dead trees are quite common in Tashikk and are seen growing in the countryside by Lift. Lift implies that there is an official name, but that most of the locals call it by it nickname.
