@[[User:LadyLameness]] Apologies if I went a bit overboard on editing for my own style; perhaps I ought to use a lighter touch going forward. I do think the "In [the] modern day" addition really should be there, though. As far as I'm aware, one might use "modern-day" as an adjective, as in "In modern-day Roshar", or refer to the period directly with "In the modern day", but just "In modern day" looks very strange to me. Perhaps it's a BrE/AmE difference? I couldn't find any mention of it online, but I know that, for instance, "in future" and "in hospital" are used in BrE in a way that they are not in AmE. Theory

Could the Purelake be the shardpool of cultivation, or linked to it? here are some elements that made me think so - the lake's water is unnaturally pure, especially on a planet where highstorms bring crem everywhere (and the honor visions, and the honor-linked magic users' "mana") - the lake seems suited for the sustenance of human life, going so far as having "specialised" medicinal or utilitarian fish

Intriguing idea, you should take it to the forum for discussion though. :) --06:02, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

Definitely worth posting on the forums. Brandon's hinted that Endowment is tied to the Bright Sea, so it wouldn't be the first time a Shard has been tied to a body of water. -Windrunner
