Batalla de Luthadel

The Battle of Luthadel is a major event in the history of Scadrial. It is a battle following the Siege of Luthadel.

Initial Point

After the attack of Vin and Zane on Ashweather Cetts army, Cett decided to draw back. Consequently there are two of the three armies left: Straff Ventures army of fifty thousand soldiers and Jastes Lekals army of twenty thousand kolosses. Straff Venture decided to act on Zanes advice to draw back and wait for the right time to strike after the kolosses have killed most of the inhabitants of Luthadel. The city was now left with the koloss army. Each gate of Luthadel was manned with one thousand soldiers. The kolosses gathered to the east of Luthadel and attacked in the morning.

Battle Process

Battles at the gates

The Tin Gate was the first to be attacked by the kolosses, quickl followed by the Pewter Gate and Zinc Gate. The latter was the first to break. The Steel Gate was strongly protected by Sazed, while the soldiers at the Tin Gate had to draw back early, which resulted in the kolosses storming the city up to the Zinc Gate. Many soldiers drew back into the former fortresses of the nobles. Up until sunset the fortresses of House Lekal and House Venture had been stormed by the kolosses. Thousands of soldiers gathered in House Hastings fortress, where King Penrod hid. At the last lights of the day, Vin arrived at the battle field.

Battles in the city

Although Vin was able to cover the retreat of many soldiers she could not stop the kolosses, who marched on to Hasting fortress. At that time, only five thousand soldiers of Luthadel were left to face the remaining twelve thousand kolosses. Just in time, Vin got to know that she is able to control kolosses by burning brass. This enabled her to get the whole koloss army under her control.

The battle outside of the city

At dawn Vin gathered her koloss army and the army of Luthadel at the west of the city to face the army of Straff Venture. As they collided, Vin immediately attacked and killed Straff. After that, Ashweather Cett arrived with his army of fourty thousand soldiers to support Luthadel. This meant the victory for Luthadel.

Aftermath

Vin forced Penrod, Janarle (who had commanded Straff's army after whose death) and Cett to submit to the New Empire, so that the Western Dominance and the Northern Dominance got parts of it. However, other rebels quickly got hold of them, which lead to the Coup of Urteau and the Siege of Fadrex City.

The battle lead to the deaths of two members of Kelsiers band of thieves, Cladent and Dockson, and one of the last Feruchemists, Tindwyl.
