Surgebinding was a type of magic from Roshar.

It was split into ten Surges. It used stormlight to control or bind the ten Surges which corresponded to fundamental forces.

The Knights Radiant were Surgebinders.

A Surgebinder is a type of magic user on the world of Roshar. They are capable of drawing Stormlight into the body and utilizing it to control the forces of nature.

Each Surgebinder has control of two of ten fundamental forces, or "surges". So far, we are aware of at least three of the available forces:
