During her studies with Jasnah, Shallan developed a friendship with the ardent [[Kabsal]] who accidentally poisoned both Shallan and himself in an attempt to assassinate Jasnah for the [[Ghostbloods]]. Shallan realized that her father had also been a member of the same organisation.
